Zero-based budgeting: give every dollar a job.

Plan your paychecks.
On the Budget tab, switch between Month and Paycheck views and set your pay schedule. Each paycheck counts toward your expected income.

Give every dollar a job.
Add budget categories and set a planned amount for each. Income minus planned should hit $0. That is zero-based budgeting.

Track as you spend.
Log transactions on the Transactions tab, import a CSV, or connect your bank under Accounts. Tap a category name to see its transactions, set a bill due date, or delete it.

Save and crush debt.
Set savings targets on the Goals tab. List debts on the Debts tab and run the snowball or avalanche payoff simulator.

Review your progress.
The Reports tab shows where your money went, with 1-month to 12-month views and a monthly income, spent, and saved trend.

Words to know

Zero-based budgeting.
Giving every dollar a job, so planned income minus planned spending equals zero. It is a plan, not a restriction.

Planned.
What you intend to spend in a category this month. Tap the number on the Budget tab to change it.

Available.
Planned plus any rollover. This is what you actually have to spend.

Rollover.
Leftover money in a category that carries into next month instead of disappearing. Turn it on with the circular arrow button next to a category name.
